I do not want to say that my experience was poor because I was pleased with most of it. After my service I drove over 300 miles on a wheel that was deemed unsafe by MOT standards. This query wasn't aimed to point fingers or intended to have anybody punished, but to provide assurance and gain lessons learned. Whilst I am extremely pleased with my service and maintainece I am really disappointed in the response I received to my query. Whilst the call handler was adamant that VW did not miss the missing locking nut found out after that call that Kwikfit had also missed this and that the nut was definitely not there at the time of the service and inspection. When I called to query how this could have been missed I was told that it wasn't missed and that the team "Weren't working on that part of the car" (They are supposed to inspect the wheels) I am extremely disappointed in the response from the call handler who told me "Basically, what I'm saying is we won't be paying for it" I wasn't looking for compensation, but rather assurance that the vehicle was checked correctly. This issue wasn't noticed during the service and inspection. However, I had an issue in which a locking nut was missing and this was not flagged during my service *THIS LOCKING NUT WAS NOT LOST BY VW, THIS WAS LOST BY KWIKFIT WHO ALSO DID NOT RAISE THE ISSUE* This issue was only highlighted after I failed my MOT. My service was completed on time, I had my brakes changed and the car cleaned.
